Unlock your locked file (A Freeware)

You downloaded a lot of files from the NET and soon your monstrous hard disk space is filled up. Now no space for you to download more stuff, you decide to delete some of the older files to make space. Your deletion job seems to be progressing just fine when you receive this message

This error can take many forms like:-

  • Cannot delete file: Access is denied
  • There has been a sharing violation.
  • The source or destination file may be in use.
  • The file is in use by another program or user.
  • Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

Rebooting and then trying to delete does not yield desired results. Re-booting in "Safe Mode" and again trying also does not help. Don't even think of formatting your hard disk to remove that stubborn file (I once did it long long back). A simple utility called UNLOCKER is there to rescue you. Installation is a breeze. Once installed it will sit in system tray and will be available in context menu.

You just have to "Right Click" on the file or folder and select Unlocker from Context Menu. If the folder or file is locked, a window listing of lockers will appear

If you want to Delete, Rename or Move then click on the drop down ("No action") and choose what you want and click Unlock All. That's it... job done.

I hope you will find this utility helpful and don't forget to thank the creator of Unlocker :- "Cedrick Collomb"
